Ford is back… kinda! Part 1

Back in June, the Ford Motor Company announced its return to Le Mans 50 years after its legendary 1-2-3 finish in 1966. What they forgot to mention was that now they will be racing in the 3rd division or the lower classes.  And to make matters worse, they intend to race with 8 Ford GT’s. I guess they figure one of these must make it to the end. Alright, let’s cut them some slack, they’ve been out of endurance racing for many decades.

The new Ford GT will race in two championships next year, the FIA WEC and TUDOR USC, and will make its racing debut in January 2016 at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The two Ford teams will be operated by Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.

The new Ford GT was spotted testing at Sebring in last August. To watch the video click here.
